second child
this is for a story about a mother who after the birth of her second child has some concerns if she will be able to love her new born as much as she loves her older son, and she feels guilt because of this feeling.
but then soon realizes how lucky she is and feels ready to be the mother of the two boys, unable to decide which one she loves more and her love for the two children grows bigger and stronger with each passing day.
in today's the globe and mail.

guardian weekend magazine
illustration for a column by Oliver Burkeman, in the guardian weekend magazine. basically it's about the lack of a proper sense of urgency in our life, about how we try to please everybody else but ourselves, altho we are aware that our time is limited. therefore -the writing says- we need a revival of the artistic genre known as the memento mori. just like in renaissance europe where public clocks carried latin phrases reminding that time was ticking away and everybody is mortal.
